Complete new garden design and construction: Robertsbridge, East Sussex

Prior to any work being done in this garden, I had to spend quite a lot of time on the design. The owner wanted a more interesting garden with plants of mainly foliage and therefore all year interest. Also the beds were all to be as low maintenance as possible so these are all covered with fabric and mulch.
Trellises were 'made to measure' between the boundary of this and next door's garden, near the house. Compost bins were also made of the same batten material. All of the fences and the shed are now wired to take the many climbing plants which will grow on them and all over the pergola. These are not obvious in these early photos. The big willow remains but it has been pollarded. The paving is of 'crazy' York stone.
Unfortunately the photographs are of very low quality.
Further paving was carried out in this garden in Winter 2003 but this is near to the house, not in the main part of the garden.
